4U LHX Air to Liquid Heat Exchanger

nVent Launches SCHROFF 4U LHX Compact Air-to-Liquid Heat Exchanger for High- Density AI and GPU Cabinets

New compact 4U liquid cooling solution delivers up to 7.5 kW of thermal management for 19-inch electronic cabinets supporting high-power electronics and AI infrastructure. LONDON--nVent Electric plc (NYSE: NVent) (“nVent”), a global leader in electrical connection and protection solutions, today announced the launch of the nVent SCHROFF 4U LHX, a compact air-to-liquid heat exchanger designed to deliver reliable, high-performance cooling for AI, GPU, and high-performance computing electronics housed in standard 19-inch enclosed cabinets.

As power densities continue to rise with the adoption of advanced AI processors and GPUs, managing thermal loads in electronic cabinets for reliable uptime has become increasingly critical. Traditional forced air cooling and in-rack air conditioning solutions may no longer provide sufficient thermal protection for these high-performance systems.

The nVent SCHROFF 4U LHX addresses this challenge by providing up to 7.5 kW of cooling capacity through efficient front-to-rear airflow. Integrated high-performance fans draw warm air from the rear of the 19-inch cabinet into the heat exchanger, where heat is transferred to a chilled water loop. The cooled air is then recirculated back into the front of the cabinet, supporting airflow architectures common in data centers and industrial applications to maintain optimal operating temperatures for sensitive electronics.

Designed to fit into 4U of rack space, the air-to-liquid heat exchanger can be easily integrated into any 19-inch cabinet with a minimum depth of 800 mm and includes a rear-mounted temperature sensor for continuous thermal monitoring and enhanced operational efficiency.

A ruggedized version of the SCHROFF 4U LHX is also available to meet the demanding requirements of naval and land-based defense applications, extending liquid cooling benefits to military and industrial systems.

“As AI and high-performance electronics continue to increase power density, customers need compact, scalable liquid cooling solutions that integrate easily into existing cabinet infrastructure,” said Alex Mao, global product manager at nVent.
“The SCHROFF 4U LHX air-to-liquid heat exchanger provides efficient and modular cooling for mission-critical and high-reliability environments.”
